Computing - Welcome

In Computing this week, Year 5 have been recapping their learning from Year 4, exploring their developing skills and reminding themselves of the vocabulary and skills learned last year. We talked about the importance of computing skills in everyday life and considered some of the rules for keeping ourselves safe online.

Planning our Fieldwork

One of the children brought in some memorabelia from Cowes including a plaque that was on the Blyskawica and an old photo from 1942.  This week, the children have planned the question they would like to answer about their local area as they will be heading into Cowes on Tuesday to collect their data.  Alongside this, the children were introduced to a risk assessment and taps a class they made a risk assessment for Tuesday. Such great ideas and discussions about risks and how we can keep ourselves safe when we go outside of school.
