French: Welcome

 

During French this week,Year 5 started creating a fact file about France. We also found out that no fuel was used to create the Paris 2024  Olympic flame. Instead 200 jets of water and warm LED lights were used to create the flame effect.  We also watched a clip from the Opening ceremony: the Minions in Paris, which the children enjoyed. The Minions were included in the Olympics because the original animators are a a French Company, Illumination. The children then started their fact files.

Planning our Fieldwork

One of the children brought in some memorabelia from Cowes including a plaque that was on the Blyskawica and an old photo from 1942.  This week, the children have planned the question they would like to answer about their local area as they will be heading into Cowes on Tuesday to collect their data.  Alongside this, the children were introduced to a risk assessment and taps a class they made a risk assessment for Tuesday. Such great ideas and discussions about risks and how we can keep ourselves safe when we go outside of school.
