French: Les quatre saisons

 Year 5 started a new topic: The four seasons. They revised months of the year and practised saying the season in which their birthday falls. They also learnt the names of the seasons in French. 

This last week, they revised the present tense of weather and learnt how to say what the weather was like in the past tense for the different seasons.

Planning our Fieldwork

One of the children brought in some memorabelia from Cowes including a plaque that was on the Blyskawica and an old photo from 1942.  This week, the children have planned the question they would like to answer about their local area as they will be heading into Cowes on Tuesday to collect their data.  Alongside this, the children were introduced to a risk assessment and taps a class they made a risk assessment for Tuesday. Such great ideas and discussions about risks and how we can keep ourselves safe when we go outside of school.
