Sports Day

 Well done to everybody who took part in sports day today. Everybody put in lots of effort and resilience, especially in the running races. I was really impressed with our year five children who acted as at true team. They supported each other when things didn’t go as well as they expected. True Gurnard spirit.

Planning our Fieldwork

One of the children brought in some memorabelia from Cowes including a plaque that was on the Blyskawica and an old photo from 1942.  This week, the children have planned the question they would like to answer about their local area as they will be heading into Cowes on Tuesday to collect their data.  Alongside this, the children were introduced to a risk assessment and taps a class they made a risk assessment for Tuesday. Such great ideas and discussions about risks and how we can keep ourselves safe when we go outside of school.
