Fieldwork in our local area,

 This week the children walked through Cowes down to the high street to find the data to answer their questions about the local area. 

It was a warm day and as they walked they identified new houses being built, different types of houses as well as the various ways people travel in Cowes. Some children looked at the different types of shops, colour of shop fronts, identifying different types of restaurants as well as questioning the public as to why they were in Cowes. One of  the surprises for  the children was  how many estate agents there are but there were no banks. Why?

Next lesson, they will be displaying their data using digital technology. Can’t wait to see their completed work.
