Scandinavia
At the beginning of the lessons children were introduced to their new journey studying Scandinavia.
Then, they discussed what they thought Scandinavia was, very few children had heard the term ‘Scandinavia’. Using atlases and digital technology the children located the three countries that make up Scandinavia: Norway, Sweden and Denmark. From there, they used their atlases to identify it can be found in the Northern Hemisphere as well as Europe. Following that, they used the key to locate the capital cities on a map. Using lots of pictures the children were able to see that each country is different but they are also beautiful.
Finally the children looked at how the three countries flags make up the Scandinavian flag.
